Shelburne Police Polar Plunge - Freezin' for a Reason!


The Shelburne Police Service would like to thank everyone who donated, volunteered and those who were Brrr-ave enough to plunge into the icy waters.

We ask that you complete a quick 5 minute survey. All information will be kept confidential.

On February 18, 2019, the Shelburne Police Service hosted the second annual Polar Plunge for Special Olympics. All proceeds raised benefit Special Olympics Ontario, with some of the funding being deferred to local Special Olympics chapters around the community.

The 2019 Plunge welcomed approximately 70 plungers, who raised over $34,500 for Special Olympics. The Shelburne leg of the Polar Plunge is among the most successful Polar Plunges that have been run in Ontario, and this plunge was the biggest fundraiser that the Shelburne Police Service has held to date. Since 2011, the Shelburne Police Service have fundraised over $140,000 for the Special Olympics, through various efforts, including the Law Enforcement Torch Run and the last two installments of the Polar Plunge.

We look forward to the upcoming 2019 Law Enforcement Torch Run and the 2020 Polar Plunge!
