Too Many Loud Trucks in Our Town

I have lived in Shelburne for 13 years.

I live on Victoria street and I have noticed a great improvement since trucks were banned on our street.  Whenever one sneaks onto our road, however, I cringe at the loud engine noises, rumbling tires and shaking of our home's windows.

When walking downtown, the large trucks often splash pedestrians who happen to be walking near puddles.  They also create cold wind drafts and snowy blizzards as they storm by on main street.  They have loud brakes they apply at every stop light.

When driving downtown, there is always at least one truck driver who does not estimate the distance correctly, thus forcing the parked cars waiting to turn left onto Main Street to back up to allow them to complete their right turn onto Owen Sound Street.  The town's streets are just to narrow to properly accommodate large trucks.

Finally, I considered opening a business on Main Street, however after sitting at a pizza store and listening to the loud trucks roar past (which happens all day and night), I realized it would not be feasible to attempt to do work with all of the noise and rumbling/vibrations.

This is why I say that there are too many loud trucks in our town and therefore a by-pass would be advisable for Shelburne.
